Céline Gillain

Céline Gillain (BE) is an artist working across the fields of electronic music, visual arts and performance. Her practice spans the production of experimental club music, as well as lecture-based, discursive and narrative formats, anchored in critical reflection on the ideological and political charges of popular culture. Exploring the grey areas of the individual and collective psyche, her work interrogates genre, exposing categories as culturally produced mechanisms of control over bodies and ideas marked as other. She teaches at the École nationale supérieure des arts visuels de La Cambre in Brussels.
