Outsiders: Futurepast w/ Nast-x

Our October Outsiders slot goes to Nast-X, a Ukrainian DJ and vinyl selector based in Kyiv, whose roots lie in jungle, breakbeat hardcore and everything related to them.

Nast-X crafts a surprising mix. Starting in rewind mode, leftfield, soft and dubby, she seizes the opportunity to build tension through percussion, wavering textures, heavy low-end sounds that never quite settle, and touches of neo-jazz. Hypnotic at times, unsettling at others, it moves in an unpredictable way, somewhere between warmth and darkness, softness and pressure.
