Three-6 Mafia is one of the most prestigious Memphis rap collectives of all-time, as Stereogum journalist Tom Breihan described, "a churning, bombastic storm of slurry Southern accents, fuck-you-up club chants, John Carpenter pianos, and enormous drums." There are more talents in this field as well, like Blackout's bizarre sound on the nightcrawler's atmosphere, DJ Sound's dungeon-esque productions, and La' Chat as a rare female rapper outputting all the sharp flows with thorns. Born from drugs, hustle and murder, Memphis Rap is perfect to describe the silhouette of the horrendous street atmosphere.
