Saya

Saya is a multipotential artist, curator and anti-racist activist. Born in Santiago de Compostela with Palestinian roots and currently based between Portugal and Galicia, she is a multi-genre DJ whose work is deeply shaped by cultural activism and inclusive curatorial practices. She is the founder of Zamaan, an itinerant, multidisciplinary platform centering Arab, queer and BIPOC voices from the SWANA region, its diaspora and beyond through sound, memory and resistance. She is also co-founder of DJs GOSTOSAS and works as Cultural Producer and Programming Coordinator at A PISCINA and CURVA. Her DJ career spans clubs and festivals across Galicia, Spain and Portugal, including a performance at Primavera Sound Porto 2025 and Keep Hush, alongside international appearances in Belgium, Zagreb, Ljubljana and Morocco. She also collaborates with international radio stations, exploring sounds beyond the club. Her sets are rooted in diasporic rhythms, blending genres such as batida, Arab club, gqom, bass, deconstructed club and hard drums, among others. A sonic journey that reminds us that anti-racist struggle can also be through music.
